(358 words) If we talk about my favorite books, then I have a lot of them. However, if we talk about books that made a lasting impression on me, the last was “Notes of a Young Doctor” by Mikhail Bulgakov.
The book of Mikhail Bulgakov “Notes of a young doctor” will not leave anyone indifferent. It includes a cycle, in a sense, of autobiographical works about a young doctor. The book begins with the short story Towel with a Rooster. The content is a very insignificant work, but with great meaning inside.
This work cannot but amaze. The doctor, who has just graduated from the medical department, is forced to go to the village of Muryino to become the chief doctor in their hospital. It would seem nothing complicated, but the doctor himself upon arrival at the hospital realizes that he is not yet ready to become the main one. Immediately after graduation, the young man wanted to work as a second doctor, but fate decreed otherwise. Fearing that he will not do his job, that he has little practice, he loses faith in himself. Such a comparison even comes to his mind: “I look like False Dmitry”. Not having time to finish the debate with himself, the doctor hears a roar, and suddenly a man flies into his office. Either from fear, or from hopelessness, he falls to his knees in front of the doctor and asks with all his might to help his daughter. Trying to understand what happened, he goes to the operating room, where a half-dead girl lies. She was very pretty in appearance: “Why such a beauty? Although he has the right features. Apparently, the mother was beautiful ... "
The doctor could not recover for a long time, thinking that the girl would not survive. What was my surprise when he began to act, and managed to do everything well. Honestly, I sincerely did not believe in this young doctor who had just begun his journey. How wrong I was ... At the end, when after two and a half months the same girl appeared at the doorstep of the office with her father, the most important symbol of the work appeared, reflected also in the title “Towel with a Rooster”.
Such a terrible beginning and a very happy ending, that was what awaited me in the last pages. While reading, I let every girl sigh through me, hoping that this was not the last. This book taught me a lot, gave me faith in the impossible, the belief that no matter how terrible the present, a happy ending will surely await us.
