Everyone has their own problems, which are very subtly shown in this picture, they are so smoothly inscribed in the world that they seem natural and not annoying. After watching this film, a feeling is created that it was drenched from a bucket, the story of two stars and music played here, everything was put together, and the end produced the maximum that could be imagined. What this film is good for is the narrative, it goes on actions and atmosphere. From the very first shots, Jack, one of the main characters, appears before us, according to his actions it is clear what problems he has (ringing in the ears, drinking pills and alcohol), and also what he lives with. He is a musician, a representative of the outgoing generation, now he is still famous and collects huge halls, but not everyone sees his problems. Although he appears in the clothes of a cowboy, but after a moment you can see that he is a man with his problems, not trying to create the image of a star, but just looking for where to get drunk, it is thanks to this desire that our hero finds Ally, the main character, who performed in a bar, where Jack got.
Their relationship was chaotic, some kind of spark flashed, and they were drawn to each other. Jack, hearing her voice, saw talent in her, so he began to ask if she was writing. Thanks to his support, Ellie will take the first steps. He invited her to his concert on the very first day (although it was night), where he had already finalized her song, and asked him to sing to the public on it.
It is interesting to observe their relationship, Jack is very gentle and always helped Ellie, when he found out that she was interested in him, then he did not have a gram of envy. The cowboy always knew how to help her, while Ellie was recording a song, he invited her to play the piano, because that is how she gets to the beat better. On the one hand, this makes Jack what he is, and thanks to this he was able to subdue her, while she was much tougher and more collected, she always knew how to keep fit. Ellie’s career exemplifies what show business does with a person. She is dyed with hair, dictated by a schedule and told what to do and how to sing. These are the requests of a new generation, when it is also necessary to attract with an unusual wrapper. Jack once told her that she should never lose herself and remember that while she had something to say, they would listen to her, and she should not ask herself why people do this, the main thing is to talk.
Ellie sometimes wondered: “Won't she lose herself? Who is she now? ” The film very competently shows what makes his talent with a person and how others see his disclosure. Ellie's appearance is changing more and more, but there is no such conflict, an emphasis on generations, and the theme of man as a product here is not revealed so deeply.

He does not even talk about how much he loses his hearing and popularity. But it’s impossible to hide from your problems forever. As a result, they reach their zenith and at the presentation of the Ally award, Jack is completely drunk and does not give an account of his actions, which is why he disgraces his wife.
Care alone
After the incident at the presentation of awards, Jack undergoes rehabilitation, so he first admits to himself that he is an alcoholic and drug addict, there he tells the first and last time about how he tried to hang himself in childhood, on a belt, but the fan fell and lounged for long days, and his father did not notice this, he was so drunk that he did not care about everything. Only his brother saw the potential in Jack and helped him to go on stage. Although it seemed that their relationship was in a terrible situation, they were always ready to hear each other. When his brother takes Jack home after rehabilitation, he will say that he admired him, not his father.
In the end, it seems that there is hope that Ellie and Jack will finally become completely happy and the alcohol will disappear from their lives, but the cowboy ends his life by suicide, hanging on a belt in the garage, without telling him that he is tormented. The reason for this may be many, there is no direct answer in the film, but one thing is clear: Jack decided for himself that he could not cope with himself.
