(296 words) In Belkin’s novel “Station Warden,” Alexander Pushkin addresses the theme of a small man. An insignificant, superfluous and unhappy character was the main character - Samson Vyrin. The author revealed his image compassionately, with pain in the heart. For him, this is a victim driven into a corner by inexorable circumstances.
The author on the example of the conflict between father and daughter showed how easily difficult problems can change, and then completely destroy a person who has told life. The caretaker's daughter, Dunya, is the only ray of light for the hero. He suffered bullying, beatings and rudeness of the guests, if only to ensure the girl a normal future. Only love for her was the meaning of his being. Everything in the family would have been safe, if not for the young rake, Minsky, who destroyed the happiness of Vyrin by stealing his daughter. Although the girl with tears perceived the separation from her past life, she was not against meeting a new one. The old man rushed in search, with his heart believed that she was aware of the mistake and would return. With great difficulty, he found his beloved only daughter, but Minsky threw the poor old man out the door, and his daughter said nothing to him. A small man with his characteristic impotence dropped his hands. In his house now there was no previous comfort and warmth, it became dull and gloomy. There were no letters from my native blood. He did not know how her life had developed. The old man gave vent to his gloom, washed down and died in complete solitude. The prodigal daughter, a few years after the death of a loved one, arrived. But she was no longer met by a lively and joyful father over a cup of tea, but a sad cemetery with a black cross and a copper image on the grave.
Thus, the Pushkin little man is a kind, easy-going, meek hero with a weak will and low social status. In the society of that time, he was forced to constantly grovel and endure resentment in order to survive, so his nature so wordlessly resigned to the loss. Samson Vyrin was not the only victim of Minsk, but the whole society, which responded with indifference to his grief.
